Vector Images

Here is another post for my graphics assessment, this time it's

Vector Images:

Vector graphic images are images made up from lines, they are more complex than raster graphic images as they are made from lines rather than pixels. This allows the viewer to zoom into the image and it will still be clear,   vector graphic images are more detailed than raster graphic/ bitmap images as they are not blurred/ pixelated when zoomed in.
Vector graphic images are used in programmes like: "illustrator". The file formats for these types of images are: wmf, fla, ai.

Raster Images

Today I am posting for one of my assessments for college, I'm starting on "artistic styles used in computer games". alright, first up is:

Raster Images:

Raster graphic images are images made up of pixels, they also use less memory to save, as the pixels are very basic. If you zoom in on a raster graphic image or enlarge the image, it becomes pixelated and blurred making the image hard to see, but from far away, the image looks quite detailed, as seen bellow.
Raster graphic images are used in programmes like: "GIMP" or "Photoshop". The file formats for these types of images are: bmp, gif, tiff, jpg, psd.
